CLEVER CLASS

This week, Prep Bluegum had a very special visitor, Sr Margaret Henderson, who engaged us in a Godly Play lesson.

Using quiet storytelling and beautiful handmade materials, Sr Marg shared the Parable of the Good Shepherd and the Parable of the Lost Sheep with our students. These two well-loved stories from the Bible helped us explore how God is like a shepherd - someone who knows each sheep by name, cares deeply for them, and always searches for the one who is lost.

Students were captivated as Sister Marg slowly moved the small figures and props to tell the stories. Afterward, we were invited into a special time of wonderingwhere students were asked open questions like “I wonder how it feels to be found?” or “I wonder if the sheep were happy when the shepherd came back?”

It was a calm and sacred experience, full of thought and imagination. We thanked Sr Marg for visiting by singing 10,000 Reasons, a song that we have been learning in class. Students then had time to respond creatively, drawing and re-telling the story.

Godly Play encourages students to see themselves as part of God’s story. We are so grateful to Sr Marg for sharing her time and this beautiful approach to faith with us.
