CLEVER CLASS

The Three Levels of Government Triaramas

This term in HASS, we have been looking at civics and citizenship, specifically exploring the workings of the government and democracy in Australia. Students have learned about the four pillars of democracy, the significance of the Australian Constitution and the various roles and responsibilities of the Federal, State and Local Governments. We used this knowledge to create a triarama, a three dimensional display of the three levels of government and the ways in which they assist in the running of our country. We also participated in class elections, using the results to create graphs that showed the class’s favourite sweets, sports, superheroes and more.

Personification

In English lessons, we have been exploring the use of figurative language to make our writing more interesting to read. We have looked at similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia and personification. We had a list of personification examples and we had to create a picture showing the literal meaning of the sentence. We used Canva to create our designs and some students used the Canvas drawing app as well.
