Premier’s Reading Challenge 2025

We are excited to invite all John Paul II students to take part in the Premier’s Reading Challenge, a wonderful opportunity to build a lifelong love of reading.

What is it?

From 16 June to 24 August 2025, students are encouraged to set their own personal reading goals and keep track of their progress using a printed reading log provided by the school.

Whether a student reads 5 books or 40 or even 80! The challenge is all about finding joy in reading and celebrating individual growth.

How does it work? (SMART Goals in Action)

  • Specific: Students choose how many books they will read.
  • Measurable: Progress is tracked with a reading log.
  • Achievable: Goals are set by each student, based on their reading level and enthusiasm.
  • Relevant: Reading for enjoyment is the focus!
  • Time-bound: All reading logs must be submitted by August 24.

Family Involvement

Parents and carers are asked to sign the reading log to support and celebrate their child’s efforts.

Recognition

All completed logs will be sent to the Premier’s Reading Challenge office, and students will receive certificates and awards in Term 4. We will also be announcing our top readers for each class during a school assembly in Term 4.

Let’s get reading, set bold goals, and enjoy the journey together!
