Our final newsletter
Wow! What a year it has been. Foundation students have achieved so much during their first year of school and we couldn't be more proud of them.
They deserve a much-needed break, and we can't wait to see them all ready for Year 1 in 2026!
Firefighter Visit
On Wednesday the 3rd of December, the local firefighters came to complete their visit from the week before. Students learnt to "Stop, drop, cover and roll" when there is a fire and also how a smoke alarm works. They were also lucky enough to use the hose and water the grass.
Walk to Heathmont Shops
On Thursday the 4th of December, we had our walk to the Heathmont Shops. It was such a beautiful day for it, however it did warm up a little during the walk there and back. Students enjoyed applying their money knowledge to real life situations and buying things their family needed, and of course, food for themselves.
Foundation Markets
For the past two weeks, students have been looking at money in maths and in the final week were looking at creating their own markets. For these markets, they created things they would like to sell to all the other Foundation students. On Friday the 5th of December, students were able to visit the other classes and practise paying for items.
Triaramas
For our Inquiry unit this term, students have been looking at weather and seasons. We have read many books and had plenty of discussions around what each season looks and feels like, what we wear and what we do. To consolidate their learning, students worked hard to create a triarama depicting their chosen season.
Class Parties
On Thursday 18th December we have our class parties. We would love for everyone to bring a dish to share with the class. There are sign up sheets outside each class window, so if you haven't already, could you please write down what your child will be bringing.
Please ensure food doesn't contain any nuts, and check with your childs teacher for any additional allergies within the class. Please only bring in food that doesn't require reheating or refrigerating.
Class parties will be held in your childs classroom at around 12pm.
