Level 5

Thank you for a wonderful year!

As we wrap up an incredible year in Level 5, we want to say a huge thank you to our amazing students and supportive families. This year has been filled with growth, laughter, challenges and achievements, and the Level 5 Teachers so proud of all that has been accomplished. Your resilience, kindness and dedication have made our classrooms a special place.

Thank you for a wonderful year!

The Level 5 Teachers

Celebrations

Last week Year 5 students had the opportunity to present at Assembly to share our learning for the term.  As well as an amazing performance of 'Snap' by Eva Guerra Weisz.

In addition, Level 5 students have begun C-PEC, a student-driven sporting league where they form teams, select sports, create rules, set up fields, and take on roles such as umpiring and scoring. This initiative has given students valuable opportunities to build key skills such as initiative, problem-solving, and collaboration, and it has been wonderful to see their confidence grow.

Literacy

Students have been reading and listening to a range of speeches to analyse bias and identify subjective and objective language. They have then applied this learning by beginning to draft their own TED Talks, with a focus on incorporating figurative language such as metaphors, similes, imagery, personification and idioms. In spelling, our focus has centred on words ending in -i and their origins.

Numeracy

Students have been revising the collection of data, creating graphs and analysing data - finding the mean, median and mode.
