Level 6 Graduation & Awards

Tonight, we will celebrate the Level 6 students at their Graduation Ceremony. The evening is filled with excitement and anticipation as we recognise the achievements of our graduating students. While it is a joyous celebration of their journey, there is also a touch of sadness as we say farewell to this exceptional group of young leaders. Congratulations to all our Level 6 students. We wish you the very best in the exciting journey ahead! We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Level 6 teachers and the Graduation Parent Group for their outstanding efforts in organising this event. To our families who leave us after their association with the school, some for many years, thank you for your contributions and support of the school and we also hope to see you in the future in whatever form that might take.  At Monday’s assembly, we also take the opportunity to honour some of our Level 6 students with special awards.

HEPS to Become a Rubish-Free Playground in 2026

We are excited to announce that, beginning in 2026, the HEPS playground will become completely rubbish free. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment for every student, all food wrappers, containers and other waste will need to be disposed of inside the school buildings.

This important change will help us maintain a more sustainable and visually appealing playground space, reduce litter-related hazards, and encourage responsible habits in caring for our school environment. We are proud to take this step forward and appreciate the support of our students, staff and families as we work together to make HEPS a cleaner and greener place for everyone.

Thank you for helping us keep our school grounds beautiful!

Our All-Girls Hoop Time Basketball team represented HEPS proudly at the State Finals last week. They secured a couple of great wins and narrowly lost several games by less than two points. The girls showed incredible teamwork, determination and resilience throughout the day and we are extremely proud of their efforts and achievements. Thank you to Nicole Stockley for coaching the girls' team throughout the last few months as they progressed to State level. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish on the basketball court over the next few years.

During this time, the school site will be closed to the community, including the playgrounds, oval, and netball/basketball courts. We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our students, parents, and the entire HEPS community for making this another incredible year.

2025 has been filled with memorable moments, including our whole-school production, four fantastic camps at Mt Evelyn, Camp Weekaway, Ferngully Lodge, and Don Bosco, as well as events such as Harmony Day, Cross Country and Athletics Competitions, and Open Night for Education Week. A special thank you to our wonderful Parent Association for organising so many events that bring our school community together—these celebrations truly showcase the spirit, connection, and joy that make HEPS so special.

We were also proud to be awarded the Victorian Education Excellence Award for Outstanding Provision for High Ability students. An achievement that highlights the dedication and commitment of our staff and students.

Today, we have finally moved into our new administration building (we will be operating from both sites until the end of the year, and we hope that the May 2026 budget will provide further funding to continue our master plan, including 12 new classrooms along Louis Street.

As we head into the holiday season, we wish everyone a restful and refreshing break. We hope you take this time to relax, recharge, and enjoy quality moments with your loved ones. For those travelling, stay safe and enjoy your adventures.

We look forward to welcoming you all back in 2026 for another exciting year of learning, growth, and new opportunities. Look out, 2026—we’re ready for you!
