Year 12 Tertiary Day at Swinburne University.
Careers has hit the ground running at Eltham High School with our Year 12 students attending a full day at Swinburne University - Hawthorn Campus, during week 2, as part of their Headstart program.
Hosted by Swinburne University, the purpose of the day is to introduce students to a range of pathway options, programs and tertiary institutions.
Presenters included The University of Melbourne, Monash University, LaTrobe University, Victoria University, Deakin University, RMIT, ACU, Box Hill TAFE and Melbourne Polytechnic amongst others. Students had the opportunity to get a feel for university life and select two tertiary presentations from a range of providers.
Automotive Industry Tour
Students from Years 10 -12 had a wonderful opportunity to attend an Automotive Industry Tour and gain insight into the Automotive industry.
Hosted by Grahams BodyWorks in Bridge Street Eltham, students were able to see state-of-the-art equipment, encompassing the latest technology in mechanical repairs, and hear from Industry experts including members from the VACC.
Students were engaged and educated about the Automotive Industry, learning about its evolution and advancements, the many careers and pathways linked to Automotive, and possible future earnings.
Students were given the opportunity to use virtual reality equipment allowing them to experience elements of the trade themselves.
