At Mother Teresa, we are committed to ensuring every child feels supported, included, and empowered to succeed. To help all students access learning and engage safely with their peers, we put specific, personalized plans in place for some students based on individual needs.
Here is a quick overview of the plans we use and how our team works together with families to support your child.
Types of Support Plans
Personalised Learning Plan (PLP): Tailored adjustments to curriculum, teaching strategies, or assessment to help a student reach their academic goals.
Behaviour Support Plan (BSP): Proactive strategies and positive interventions designed to help a student develop self-regulation and positive social interactions.
Safety Plan: Clear procedures put in place to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the student and their peers during the school day.
Our Process for Supporting Students
When a student requires tailored adjustments or extra support, we follow a collaborative approach:
Observation & Insights: Classroom teachers document key observations, identifying both the student’s unique strengths and the specific challenges they face in the learning environment.
Consultation & Partnership: We engage in Program Support Group (PSG) meetings to bring together families, classroom teachers, and support staff. Your insights as parents and carers are essential to understanding the whole child.
Plan Development & Goal Setting: Together, we create the appropriate plan (PLP, BSP, or Safety Plan) with clear, actionable goals designed to measure growth and celebrate progress.
If you have questions, please reach out to myself or your child's/children's classroom teacher
