2027 School Planning

Although it may seem early, planning for the 2027 school year is well and truly underway. Over the coming months we will be finalising staffing, class structures, budgets and enrolments to ensure we are well prepared for another successful year.

Foundation enrolments remain a priority: at this stage we have 60 Foundation students enrolled for 2027 and are also accepting enrolments in selected other levels through the school. If you have family, friends or neighbours looking for a welcoming, faith-filled school community where every child is known and valued, I would appreciate you encouraging them to apply to Mother Teresa.

If you know that your child will not be returning to Mother Teresa in 2027, we would appreciate you letting the school office know as soon as possible, via info@motherteresa.catholic.edu.au. This information assists us greatly with our planning and allows us to offer places to families currently on our waiting list.

Currently, all Catholic schools are working through planning and budgeting activities for 2027 to ensure we are well placed to support our staff, students and school communities in the coming year. This includes looking at how we can accommodate the changes likely to flow from a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) with school staff.

I will continue to keep our parent community informed throughout this process. As always, our focus remains on maintaining strong school communities and continuing to deliver a high-quality Catholic education for every student.

School Camp Survey: Have Your Say

We invite all families to complete a brief survey currently live on Compass (via Insights) to help us gather your feedback regarding our school camping program. As you may be aware, under the recent Victorian State School Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA), a new time-in-lieu payment of $740 per overnight stay was introduced for teachers attending school camps. It is anticipated that a similar clause will be adopted in the upcoming Catholic Education agreement. This change will significantly increase the overall cost of running overnight camps for families.

To ensure our approach remains sustainable, engaging, and aligned with our community's needs, this survey will help guide what the Mother Teresa camping and outdoor education program will look like moving forward. Your input is vital in shaping these future experiences for our students!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support, partnership and trust. It is a privilege to work alongside you in the education and care of your children at Mother Teresa. Together we continue to build a community where every child is encouraged to grow in faith, learning and life.

Regards,

Jess
