Deputy Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers, 

Over the last couple of weeks we have been busy developing more activities and fun ways to engage the children and gain student voice to know what they would love throughout the school. Below is a description of what has been implemented at Mother Teresa:

Lunchtime Clubs

Over the last couple of weeks, our school leaders have been trialling and running different lunch time clubs. We have seen students engage in these activities with our student leaders showing their leadership by running these clubs. All students have had lots of fun so far and we look forward to continuing to see the success of these clubs and have students who want to try something different to attend and enjoy. 

The clubs are: 

Monday - Dance club run by our Sport Leaders

Tuesday - Calming Art club run by our Wellbeing Leaders

Wednesday - Lego club run by our Sustainability Leaders

Thursday - Coding club run by our Technology Leaders

For the clubs, we run on a 3 week cycle to ensure all students have the best opportunity to participate, so for the remainder of the term, the year levels that can attend the clubs are: 

Week 7 (Next Week): Grade 5&6

Week 8: Grade P-2

Week 9: Grade 3&4

Week 10: Grade 5&6

PBL Shop

Along with the clubs, our PBL leaders went to each classroom in the school and asked for which prizes they would love to see for our acknowledgement system. The students came up with great ideas, so we have decided to make a P-2 Acknowledgment System and a 3-6 Acknowledgment System. Below are the prizes students can trade their tokens in for. 

Please note the items in yellow are for the PBL shop that will run Tuesday (F-2) and Thursday (3-6)

PBL Focus Week 7&8

The upcoming focus for PBL is, 'I follow the instructions of adults'. This comes under the value of Respect at all times. This is an important focus as we want to build respect within our school where students will follow the directions and instructions given by adults. Sometimes students will disagree with the instructions, so we do encourage them to respectfully ask for the reasons to understand, and even though they may still disagree, it is important to still follow the instruction to remain respectful and keep everyone safe.
