Wyndham College Celebrates International Mathematics Day

On Thursday, 13th March, Wyndham College came alive with the spirit of numbers and problem-solving as students gathered to celebrate International Mathematics Day. The event, held in the library’s viewing room, saw an enthusiastic turnout of a large group of eager students, all ready to put their mathematical minds to the test.

The room buzzed with excitement as students participated in a variety of fun-filled activities, including Sudoku puzzles, matchstick puzzles, board games, and an engaging Kahoot quiz. Some students were drawn in by the free lollies but soon found themselves immersed in the mathematical challenges, while others arrived determined to showcase their skills and compete for bragging rights.

One of the highlights of the day was the intense rivalry between the boys' and girls' groups, with each team striving to outdo the other. In the end, it was the Year 11 girls' group, led by Mugdha and Jewen, that emerged victorious. Their impressive problem-solving skills earned them loud applause and well-deserved praise from their peers.

Many students wished they could stay longer to continue the fun, but the ringing bell meant it was time to return to class.

Given the fantastic turnout and enthusiastic participation, next year’s event promises to be even bigger and better. Well done to all students who participated, and a huge congratulations to our winners. We can’t wait to celebrate again next year.
