National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week 'Grounded in Truth' Exhibition launch

In celebration of National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June), members of the college community were invited to attend the launch of Manningham Council annual Reconciliation Victoria Week Exhibition. The exhibition showcases the unique voices of contemporary Indigenous artists. This year's exhibition theme was 'Grounded in Truth' and featured five artists from two generations of the Young family - Lyn-Al, Robert, Judith, Richard and Raymond.

Their artworks were focused on the notions of honesty, openness and truth and demonstrated how art can be a conduit for understanding and healing.

The students were fortunate enough to speak with the artists themselves and deepen their understanding of the meaning behind the artworks displayed. It was an incredibly valuable experience and we felt so honoured to attend.
