The Saints are on the March to September 

It has been a great year so far for the St Virgil’s Old Scholars Football Club. 

The seniors have locked in top spot which means a double chance and a home final at the New Town Bike Track oval. 

Playing coach Jaye Bowden has led the boys well throughout the season and with some great performances by old boys Luke Potter, Dan Muir and Tom Morgan they have been able to meet all the challenges head on to remain on top of the ladder. Hopefully they can continue their winning form in the finals and break a 20 year premiership drought.

The Reserves have been in great form lately and with another win in the last round should lock in third spot which will see them play before the seniors in Week 1 of the finals. They have a great belief and bond that will hopefully see them go deep into the finals. Old Boys Jonathon Tyrell and Oscar Walker combined for 20 goals against Richmond on July 25. 

In the inaugural year for the Women’s team they have also locked in second spot on the ladder. Traditional rivals Hutchins have been a dominant performer in the women’s competition this year but the girls think they can knock them off at the business end of the season!
