Farewell Mr Messer!
On Friday August 6, students and staff had the opportunity to farewell outgoing Principal Mr Damian Messer. Whilst Mr Messer does not formally conclude his service to St Virgil’s until the end of the year, Friday was his last operational day at the College prior to taking well deserved enrichment and long service leave.
Mr Messer has been Principal since 2010 and has shared the educational journey of 1000s of young men through St Virgil’s. The emotion evident in the heartfelt thanks given by the boys at Austins Ferry highlights the esteem with which he is held and the significant impact he has had upon the life of the College.
Whilst the College will gather later in the year to formally recognise and celebrate Mr Messer’s service to St Virgil’s, the boys perhaps captured it best with rousing renditions of the War Cry and School song. Thank you Damian for your support of the OVA and all students at St Virgil's. The OVA will formally thank and farewell Damian for his outstanding leadership of St Virgil's at an event later in the year.
