LHS EIS AFL Vs TIWI ISLAND

On Thursday 12 September, we had the pleasure hosting Tiwi College, in an AFL exhibition match.

The Year 10 EIS AFL boys had their work cut out against the freakish talent and athletic ability of the opposition, however they played the match in a competitive but ultra-sportsmanlike way.

Both teams enjoyed their oppositions’ talents, often congratulating each other in warm embrace, after players from both teams performed a special act.

We were treated to a number of cultural appreciation dances at the completion of the match from our visitors; certainly a thrill for our boys and an insight into their culture from the Tiwi.

Thanks to Kelsey Currie who was the organiser behind the scenes and also the students and teachers who came out to watch, it was a memorable morning for all!
