R U OK Day?

On Thursday 12 September, our SRC held an ‘R U OK Day?’ to highlight the ongoing need to check in with your friends and family regarding positive mental health.

It was great to see everyone participating in; line dancing, cup cake making, hoola hoop and limbo  competitions and a range of other activities, all to encourage connection to others - a protective factor in addressing mental health issues.

Thanks to Mrs McGrotty and the fabulous SRC team for their work in making the day the success that it was.

Year 8

Health and Wellbeing Day

The Year 8 Health and Wellbeing Day was a great success, with the students getting involved with the many activities on offer.  Thanks to everyone involved.

Special thanks to the Year 8 Co-ordination team and in particular, Cindy Harris, for her work in ensuring the day was successful.

High Achiever's

Writing Workshop

Last week, our top writers from across the year levels had the opportunity to work with Alice Bishop, author of 'A Constant Hum’.

The students had an opportunity to hear about the writer’s process and how Alice became an author.

There were plenty of questions that Alice graciously answered and provided insights into how they can improve their own writing.

Thanks to Jess Timmers and Melissa McMillan who organised the day and to our students for their enthusiasm.

2019 Valedictory Dinner

You may be aware that our usual venue, The Penisula at Docklands, has some significant structural issues that have been reported in the media.

As we are very unsure about when the issues will be resolved, we have made the decision to move to a new venue rather than wait with the prospect of no venue.

The new venue has been confirmed as The Palladium at Crown.

Thanks to Katie Wilson for her quick work to secure a venue.

Happy Holidays

Please have a safe and restful break.  We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on, Monday October 7.
