Junior Walk to Elster Creek

This term for Inquiry, our topic has been Journey and we have been learning about different places in our community. The Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students went on a walk to Elster creek to see a different type of environment and the animals that live there. We loved seeing the birds swimming on the water, standing on the bridge to watch the water flowing and finding lots of different bird houses in the trees.

Year 2 Mystery Readers

Over the past few weeks, each Friday morning the Year 2 children have been so excited about Mystery Reader. During the week, a clue is written on the board each day and children guess who they think the mystery reader might be.

Each reader has chosen a wonderful book and the children have thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story.

Thank you to Antoinette Ferrari who read ‘Giraffe’s Can’t Dance’,  Ali Rayner who read ‘A Little Green Frog’ and Yvette Dowlan who read ‘The Magic Beach’.

We can’t wait to see who will be reading to us, this Friday!

What A Star!

On Friday night my daughter and I went to see our very own Mr Aidan Niarros in Seussical.

Oh, the things you can think when you think about Seuss!

What a performance! Aidan as the ‘Cat in the Hat’ was the STAR of the show. His incredible singing, comedic timing, dancing, acting and stage presence made the show so entertaining.

Join the Cat in the Hat as we follow the stories of Horton the Elephant, Jojo, Gertrude Mc Fuzz, The Sour Kangaroo, and all your favourite characters in this fun filled extravaganza to entertain the young and the young at heart.

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks".  Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

Seussical is fun for the whole family and is playing for a strictly limited season exclusively at Bunjil Place Theatre in June 2023.

Mr Niarros you are a STAR!!
