Principal's Report

We have all been very excited knowing that we have remained at school for the entire term. It has been more than two years since we have enjoyed 11 weeks at school uninterrupted by the pandemic.

I would like to sincerely thank all families for their ongoing support with the regular RAT testing program throughout the term. The support from families has enabled us to have very limited interruptions to our planned programs.

COVID has impacted everyone in one way or another. I would also like to thank families for their support with the ongoing changes in staffing that has occurred throughout the term due to staff absences caused by COVID.

We are extremely thankful that our class sizes are small enough that, when required, we can split our classes, ensuring that the teaching and learning continues in the year levels despite staff absences.

We have successfully implemented all of our planned incursions and excursions this term except for one interschool sporting activity (Years 5 and 6). This activity had to be postponed because the bus company had insufficient drivers available due to COVID.

Tomorrow we are intending to hold our end of term assembly, weather permitting. We are planning to hold this assembly at the amphitheatre with all student and guests attending standing or sitting on the oval.

Our School Student Leaders will be managing our school assembly with the support of Tania Purton. We are thrilled to have our choir performing for the first time in two years and a guest appearance of our Prep students, as well as many other individual awards.

Any change to this planned assembly will be communicated via Compass. School will finish at 2.30 pm tomorrow with the assembly commencing at 2.00 pm. If you are unable to collect your child at 2.30 pm, please book your child into OSHC. Our OSHC program will be operating until 6pm as normal.

Outstanding Achievement

Congratulations to Xavier W from Year 4 who competed in the Regional Swimming Championships last week. Xavier is now the proud owner of two wonderful medals, of which he will share with our school community at assembly tomorrow.

Xavier came 2nd in backstroke and won the breaststroke at the Regional Swim meet on Monday 28 March.

Xavier now progresses to the State Final, which will be held on 29 April at MSAC. This is a truly amazing achievement and we are all extremely proud of this delightful young man who epitomises exemplary sportsmanship in everything he does.

Well done Xavier, everyone at Beaumaris North Primary School is extremely proud of you.

Jesse

BNPS welcomes Jesse our new Grounds/Maintenance person. Jesse is currently working 2 days a week and will commence full time shortly. Jesse is a wonderful addition to our staff.

Madeline and Alannah Foundation

Last Friday 25 March, the students wore a touch of orange to recognise that we say no to violence and bullying and yes to creating harmony.

BNPS raised $462.30 from the gold coin collection which has been given to the Madeline and Alannah Foundation.

Easter Cookie Raffle

Thank you Caroline Hillis for donating the 3 lovely hampers to raffle.

The Easter Cookie Hamper Raffle has raised $1535.00 so far. The raffle closes tomorrow at 10am & will be drawn at the end of term Assembly at 2pm.

Thank you for every one who purchased a ticket/s. This is a wonderful result and we are looking forward to purchasing a cubby house for our playground.

ANZAC Day Service

Wednesday 27 April 10am

Next term, we are having our Year 6 ANZAC Day ceremony to commemorate those who lost their lives in service to their country in all wars.

We are encouraging everyone to support our veterans and war widows by purchasing merchandise provided by the Beaumaris RSL. The prices range from $2 - $10. We have $2 badges, $3 wristbands, $4 keyrings, $5 badges & pens as well as $10 badges.

The Year 6 students visited the classrooms this week and will again next term prior to the service.

Please remind your child/ren to wear them to school for the ANZAC Day Service.

Wally in Training Today

Wally is currently in training with Georgie Tilly in Benalla. We are looking forward to him qualifying and being onsite at BNPS.

End of Term 1

The excitement of the end of term 1 is always very special as we observe the anticipation of our young students as they prepare for a visit from the Easter Bunny, and of course the school holidays.

I would like to wish everyone a very safe and relaxing break from the daily rigors of school.

We all hope that the onset of the cooler weather does not impact negatively on our attendance onsite. We are preparing as best as we can for the cooler weather and will just be taking one day at a time.
