Upcoming Events
Still on the agenda for this year is the return of our amazing Quiz night on 6 September (SAVE THAT DATE)! Is there anybody out there willing to assist making this another night to remember? We are also looking for a volunteer with ideas for something for Father’s Day.
Mother’s Day Lunch
Our second Mother’s Day lunch was another huge success! This event is not a fundraiser, but purely a social opportunity to get together with lots of mums to have a chat and a glass or two of sparkles. And it couldn’t get better with lovely food and the gorgeous view at the Black Rock Yacht Club on a beautiful sunny day. Feedback from those mum’s was that everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
Such an event can only come together with help and contributions from many people…
We kicked off once again with our fabulous BSC string quartet, Olivia Lim, Ethan Badcock, Julia Schiavion and Isabielle Overhill who added a touch of class to the event with their beautiful playing. Thanks also to Nyssa Bradsworth and strings teacher Georgie Maclucas for getting them there.
We were lucky enough to have an amazing speaker on the day, Nicky Mackie, a BSC parent and thought leader in human resources and executive coaching. Nicky runs a successful HR consultancy PeopleAssets and she specialises in inspiring business leaders on all levels to success. Nicky spoke to us about Connecting with our Gen Z's and how to encourage them to think about the "how" of learning and solving their own problems. We had some superb gifts and raffle prizes on the day and one lucky mum ended up winning 3 prizes! Prizes included:
- One-year membership at Black Rock Yacht Club (value $600)

- A Voucher from The Reformer Room (Value $250)
- All the bath salts and a bottle of wine from parent Jed Elliott (value $200)

All of this would not have come together to be such a success without the tireless efforts of this year’s event organiser, Jed Elliot. Not being a mum, Jed wasn’t even able to attend and enjoy the fruits of his labours, but from all of us, we thank you hugely Jed for making this such a wonderful day!
