Advent
We are now in the Liturgical Season of Advent!
“Advent invites us to reflect on the enormity of how God touched humanity in the person of Jesus and how, as a consequence, we are able to encounter Jesus in and through our human experiences.”
~ Br Julian McDonald CFC.
What is the Advent Wreath?
The Advent wreath symbolises the four weeks of the Christian journey toward Christ’s coming. Its circular shape represents God’s eternal love, evergreen branches signify hope and life, and the four candles mark the weeks of Advent—hope, peace/faith, joy, and love—guiding believers in spiritual preparation for Christmas and the arrival of Jesus.
Why do Christians put up a Nativity scene for Christmas?
Christians put up a Nativity scene to remember Jesus’ humble birth and keep Christ at the centre of Christmas. The scene invites reflection on God’s love, encourages gratitude and peace, and reminds families of the hope and meaning behind the holiday amid the season’s busyness.
What has your journey toward Christmas been like so far?
Thanksgiving Liturgies
This week we celebrated our end of year Thanksgiving Mass and Liturgy to thank God for all the blessings our school has received over the year. Thank you to Fr Pier for presiding and to all of the students and staff who helped make these final celebrations so special.
SVDP Christmas Appeal
Thank you to all our students, families and staff for your donations to our St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal over Term 4. Thanks to your generosity, lots of children in need across WA will experience the joy of Christmas.
Heart of Salvado
A huge thank you to all of our College families who participated in our Heart of Salvado outreach program and spreading Christmas joy. Over 80 generous care packages have arrived in the Kimberly, just in time for Christmas. The staff at John Pujajangka-Piyirn Catholic School in Mulan and g Warlawurru Catholic School, Red Hill were very excited to receive the gifts and they look forward to sharing them with the students closer to Christmas.
