Farewell to Mrs Ros Hutchinson

Mrs Hutchinson is retiring after nearly 30 years in education, including 10 wonderful years at Salvado Catholic College. She is a foundation staff member and has made a big contribution to the growing College. 

The Pre-Primary children made her a little card and presented it to her. We will miss you, Mrs Hutchinson!

First Nations Incursion

In week 7, the children in Year 2 enjoyed having a visit from Greg from Indigenous Tours WA. He brought lots of exciting artifacts with him, which the children explored. He also told them lots of dreamtime stories all about Aboriginal culture and traditions. After the incursion the children created fantastic posters all about Perth’s links to Aboriginal culture, using the facts that they had learnt.

Year 9 Outdoor Education – Golden Ponds Excursion

On Tuesday 2nd December, Mr De Pontes’ Year 9 Outdoor Education class headed to Golden Ponds for a half-day excursion to put their fishing skills to the test. Students practised casting, fish identification and tying rigs, and it didn’t take long for the action to begin—within five minutes of arriving, a nice silver perch was landed. From there, cries of “get the net!” were constant, with plenty of students making catches throughout the morning.

Fish of the Day went to Finlay Sinton, who reeled in an impressive black bream that put up a strong fight, taking plenty of line before he was able to bring it in.

A big thank you to Mr De Pontes and Miss Vogl for their assistance and support on the day.

Secondary Liturgy Choir

We are blessed to have a liturgical choir!
