A Message from the Principal

Dear Families and Friends,

Our final weeks at the College have been very busy with a number of events as well as a variety of learning opportunities, assessment and reporting.

Year 6 Shark Tank

Our Year 6 students recently showcased their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in the annual Shark Tank event. Students worked in teams to design innovative products and services, preparing detailed business plans and persuasive pitches. They presented their ideas to a panel of ‘sharks’ - staff and community members - who asked challenging questions and provided constructive feedback. The event highlighted the students’ collaboration, problem-solving, and presentation skills, and we were impressed by the originality and confidence displayed. Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding efforts!

Our Annual Community Meeting was held on Thursday 27 November 2025, during which the College Advisory Council elections were held.  I was very grateful for the many parents and community members who nominated for positions, committing to providing their expertise and time to the College community.  Following due process, I am pleased to announce the Advisory Council members for 2026. 2026 Friends of Salvado Executive Committee

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the many parents and community members who offered their time and talents, to serve with the Friends of Salvado, and in doing so, enriched the experiences of our students at the College.

Our students shone brightly on stage, sharing their talents and spreading Christmas cheer through songs and presentations that captured the meaning of the season.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff for their planning and preparation, and to our parents and families for your ongoing support. Your presence and encouragement made this celebration even more special. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and hear the laughter and singing that filled the evening.

Celebrating Excellence

This week, our College community gathered for two special occasions that truly reflect the spirit of Salvado.

On Tuesday, 9 December, we celebrated our Secondary Students Awards Presentation Evening, recognising students who have demonstrated excellence in learning, leadership, and service. Congratulations to all our award recipients - you inspire us with your hard work and commitment.

The following day, Wednesday, 10 December, our Primary Thanksgiving Liturgy and Awards Ceremony gave us the opportunity to pause, give thanks, and celebrate the achievements of our younger students. Just as our secondary students strive for excellence, our primary students remind us of the joy of learning and the importance of gratitude.

Both events were made possible through the dedication of our staff and the enthusiasm of our students. We also thank our parents and families for joining us - your presence makes these celebrations truly meaningful.

Year 6 Celebration

Yesterday evening, we celebrated a significant milestone for our Year 6 students as they marked the end of their primary years at Salvado Catholic College. While not a formal graduation - because we look forward to welcoming them into Year 7 - it was a joyful occasion to recognise their achievements and leadership throughout the year.

Thank you to our dedicated staff for organising such a memorable event, and to the parents who helped decorate and joined us to share in the celebrations. After the awards ceremony, students enjoyed a lively Year 6 Disco, the perfect way to finish the evening with friends and family.

We are so proud of our Year 6 cohort and look forward to continuing the journey with them in secondary school!

As the 2025 academic year ends, we thank all staff for their dedication and care for our young people.

Christmas Blessings

As we journey through the season of Advent, we are reminded of the joy and hope that entered the world through the birth of Christ. His light continues to guide us, bringing peace to our hearts and homes.

My prayer for our Salvado community is that this Christmas season fills your lives with His love, strengthens your families with His grace, and surrounds you with the joy that only Christ can bring.

May Christ’s peace and joy be with each of you and your loved ones. Wishing all in our community a blessed Christmas, a safe and restful holiday, and I look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 for another exciting year of learning and growth together.
