Trinity at the Quarry

On Sunday, 22 March, the Quarry Amphitheatre came alive for another spectacular Trinity at the Quarry concert, showcasing the incredible talent of students from Trinity College and Mercedes College. Guests were welcomed with pre-show entertainment from our chamber ensembles, and the Pipes and Drums Band setting the tone for a wonderful evening of music and performance.

The concert opened with an engaging program from the TM Wind Orchestra, followed by diverse repertoire selections from the TM Classical Guitar Ensemble, TM Symphonic Brass Ensemble, Mercedes Select Choir, Senior Vocal Ensemble, Swing Band I, and the rock band Sons of Icarus. A special tap solo dance feature added variety to the evening, before audiences enjoyed performances from the TM String Orchestra playing Vivaldi.

A highlight of the night was the powerful combined performance of Book of Boba Fett, featuring members of the Senior Chorale, String Orchestra, and percussionists. The evening concluded with a finale from the TM Combined Chorale, demonstrating its versatility, singing an Indonesian folk song arrangement and the majestic sound of ‘Splendour’ by Elaine Hagenburg.

Congratulations to all students involved. Their dedication and hard work were evident in every performance.

Thank you to all who attended, especially the parents and families whose ongoing support makes events like these possible. We also extend our appreciation to our music staff and ensemble directors for their commitment and organisation in delivering such a successful event. A special thank you to the Friends of Performing Arts for organising the fundraising raffle, and to our families and sponsors for their generous donation of raffle prizes.

We look forward to sharing more great music with you in Term 2.
