A reminder that applications for Year 7 2027 at McCarthy Catholic Collage are closing at 4:00pm Sunday 31 May 2026. If you have a student in Year 6 this year, please ensure that your application is submitted online prior to this date. The online application is available through our website or via the Compass app by selecting 'More' followed by 'Family & Enrolments'.

We are thrilled to announce that Chloe Lin of Year 8 is amongst a group of 60 finalists in the 2026 University of New England School Acquisitive Art Prize, “Let’s Hang it”. This is an amazing achievement given there were 716 art entries this year from 65 schools. Well done, Chloe.

The finalists will be judged by artist Rowen Matthews, who also is responsible for initiating UNESAP 23 years ago, and the director of NERAM, Rachael Parsons, who will also present a Director's Choice Award. A People’s Choice Award will be voted for over the duration of the exhibition via the online exhibition page and the winner announced at the conclusion.

The opening of the 2026 UNESAP Let’s Hang It! The exhibition will be held from 5pm on Friday 24 July, 2026 at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) in Armidale with the prize-giving ceremony commencing at 5.30pm. The exhibition will be on display until Sunday 9 August, 2026.

Diocesan Art Competition

“Mary: Our Mother”

We extend our congratulations to Chloe Lin in Year 8 for receiving second place in the Diocese Art Competition, “Mary: Our Mother”.

The theme “Mary: Our Mother” invites students to explore the life, virtues, and titles of Mary through visual media. Chloe’s artwork will be used to complement our diocesan Angelus resources. Well done Chloe!
