Student Voice, Agency & Leadersh

Term 2 has been another busy and exciting period in the Student Voice, Agency and Leadership space, with our students continuing to take an active role in shaping opportunities and experiences across the college.

We would like to congratulate Sarisha Vagadia and Ella Smith, who will represent Lara Secondary College at the Alpine School for Student Leadership Program throughout Term 3. This is a fantastic opportunity for both students to further develop their leadership skills, resilience and independence while working alongside students from across Victoria. We wish them every success and look forward to seeing the positive impact they have when they return.

Looking ahead to Term 3, our student leaders are hard at work planning several initiatives to strengthen school connection and student engagement. Preparations are well underway for a Colour Run for our Year 11 and 12 students, a lunchtime netball competition, and a themed dress day that is being designed and led by our junior student leaders.

Our SVAL team is also preparing to participate in the Regional Student Voice Conference, where students will have the opportunity to collaborate with peers from other schools, share ideas and further develop their leadership capabilities.
