Kings Park - Lunch Time Futsal Competition

This term the PE department has been involved in running a futsal tournament which runs at recess and lunch times. With over 70 participants in both boys and girls’ categories and crowds pushing 300 students in the gym, the tournament has become the talk of the town and beyond with even a social media reach.

All games have been played with fair-play and great sportsmanship being held in the highest regard. Students have shown their ability to support and encourage one another on the court and from the sideline which has been great to see as all goals are loudly applauded and cheered.

In addition to the health and wellbeing promotion that this tournament provides, the interconnectedness of students all age groups being mixed in teams, supports the nurturing nature of the Copperfield College, as students build positive and valuable relationships with their peers.

The tournament continues next term, as we look towards the finals series and determining the champions for 2024.

Our intermediate girls represented Copperfield College Kings Park for Softball at the SSV State Finals Competition. Outstanding performance from our girls in all 3 group games, finishing undefeated and qualifying for the State Grand Final. Highlight of the day was the girls defeating last years State Champions Brentwood in a nail-biting 13 runs to 9 finish to guarantee their spot in the Grand Final. Our girls unfortunately went down in the Grand Final to Gladstone Park, but still finished the day as being the 2ND BEST INTER GIRLS SOFTBALL SCHOOL IN VICTORIA!
