Programs Team Update
A Busy End to Term 3
Term 3 has been another busy and rewarding period across the College, with students participating in a range of programs, events and experiences designed to build connection, leadership, wellbeing and engagement.
Year 9 Tasmania Camp
Our Year 9 Tasmania Camp was an overwhelming success, providing students with an opportunity to learn, explore and strengthen their connections with their peers and staff. Highlights included visits to Port Arthur and MONA, alongside a range of shared experiences throughout the week. The camp was a fantastic opportunity for students to step outside the classroom, develop their independence and create lasting memories with their cohort.
Year 11
Our Year 11 students are beginning to turn their attention towards 2027, with the student leadership selection process now underway. Over the coming weeks, interested students will work through their applications and consider how they can contribute to the College community as senior student leaders.
Planning is also progressing for several important Year 12 experiences next year. The Events Committee has secured a venue for the 2027 Formal, while preparations for the Year 12 Camp, including dormitory arrangements, are also underway.
Academically, Year 11 students will complete their English SAC as a whole cohort this Thursday, marking another important milestone in their VCE studies.
Year 12
The end of secondary school is quickly approaching for our Year 12 students. Students will complete their Mathematics SAC this Thursday as they continue working towards the completion of their final year.
To celebrate the end of Term 3, Year 12 students will also come together for a Cultural Potluck next Thursday, providing an opportunity to share food, celebrate the diversity of our College community and enjoy some time together as a cohort.
Preparations for the Year 12 Formal and Celebration Day are also well underway as we look forward to recognising and celebrating the Class of 2026.
R U OK? Day
Our College-wide R U OK? Day was an overwhelming success, bringing students and staff together to promote the importance of mental health, connection and checking in with those around us.
Students enjoyed a whole-school BBQ before participating in a range of wellbeing-focused activities, including sport, arts and crafts, board games and opportunities for social connection. The day provided an important reminder that supporting our mental health can take many forms and that meaningful connection with others remains one of our most valuable wellbeing tools.
Excel Program
The Excel Program continues to support our senior students in developing the habits and routines required to succeed in VCE and beyond. Another 20 students have successfully completed the program, building their understanding of effective study habits, organisation, sleep, nutrition, exercise and strategies to support their cognitive performance.
It has been fantastic to see students continue to engage with the program and reflect on the practical changes they can make to improve both their learning and overall wellbeing.
As Term 3 draws to a close, we congratulate all students who have participated in these programs and events and thank the staff who continue to contribute their time, energy and expertise to creating meaningful opportunities for our students.
