Karoo Primary school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the schools’ privacy policy and the schools’ privacy collection notice.
Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policy, describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.
We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for Education safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for Education, please contact the school.

Our “Helping in the Classroom with Literacy and Numeracy” session for parents and carers is designed to show simple and practical ways families can support learning at school. During the session, teachers demonstrate activities that build both literacy and numeracy skills in everyday classroom tasks. You will see how children practise reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension through phonics, word games, and storytelling. The session also introduces numeracy strategies such as counting activities, number recognition, basic problem-solving, and using everyday objects to explore addition and subtraction. By understanding these approaches, parents and carers can feel more confident supporting their child’s learning at home and reinforcing the skills students practise in the classroom.
All welcome, please book through the Event Brite link below.

We value feedback from our school community, as we continue to refine our Student Support and Getting to Know You Interviews processes. Collecting feedback from families helps us understand what is working well and where improvements can be made. Your responses will support us in improving communication, meeting structures, and support systems, so that they are effective and accessible for families, while ensuring the best outcomes for students. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences with us.
The survey will be open until Thursday 2nd April.

Lastly, well done to our Year 3 and 5 students who have completed all NAPLAN assessments, with such enthusiasm and positivity. A big shout out to our teachers who have provided a calm and organised atmosphere and prepared our students so well.
I look forward to seeing you all around our amazing school and enjoy the long weekend!
Best wishes,

Assistant Principal
