Inter-House Swimming Carnival
On Thursday 5 March, students travelled to Perth HPC for our annual Inter-House Swimming Carnival. The day was filled with strong competition and house pride, as students competed in the pool and cheered on their Housemates from the stands.
Across the carnival, students competed in both individual and team races in the 50m pool, as well as a variety of novelty events in the 25m pool. Throughout the day, students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and a willingness to represent their House. The stands were full of chants and encouragement, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
As always, a highlight of the carnival was the relay events towards the end of the day. With Houses separated by only a small number of points, the relays played a crucial role and made for an exciting finish to the competition.
The Spirit Bear was presented to the House that best displayed enthusiasm and support—not only for their own house, but for all participants throughout the day. Congratulations to Tongerlo, who were deserving recipients thanks to their outstanding house spirit.
In the overall house competition, Magdeburg delivered strong performances across the day to be crowned 2026 Inter-House Swimming Carnival Champions.
Final House Standings:
- Magdeburg
- Tongerlo
- Xanten
- Kilnacrott
- Premontre
Thank you to all staff and students who contributed to making the day such an enjoyable and successful event for our College community.

ACC Senior Basketball
It has been an outstanding start to the season for our Senior Basketball teams, with both sides achieving fantastic results in the ACC South Division 1 competition.
Following this week’s fixtures, our Senior Girls have finished in top spot, while our Senior Boys have secured 2nd place, with both teams qualifying for finals next week. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work the players have shown throughout Term 1.
The Senior Boys opened their campaign with a tough 49–60 contest against All Saints’ College, but quickly bounced back with a strong 48–37 victory over Kennedy Baptist College, led by an 18-point performance from Anthony Flores and a spectacular and memorable dunk from Godfrey P’batta.
The boys continued their strong form with a 49–45 win over CBC Fremantle, with Andre Dweh leading the scoring with 18 points and Zane Hunt contributing 12 crucial points.
They carried this momentum into a 63–49 win against Emmanuel Catholic College, before finishing the round with an impressive 75–62 victory over Frederick Irwin Anglican School, securing 2nd place in the division.
Our Senior Girls have been dominant this term, finishing undefeated and top of the ladder.
They opened with a 60+ point win over All Saints’ College before defeating Kennedy Baptist College 39–30 in an exciting contest, where Lailah Tasker played a key defensive role and Kaia Rukuata made an important scoring impact.
The girls continued their strong form with a commanding 75–26 win over Corpus Christi College, with Kaia Rukuata finishing with 16 points, before travelling to Mandurah Catholic College and securing a 44–35 victory.
They sealed top spot this week with a convincing 47–18 win over Frederick Irwin Anglican School. ACC Semi Finals will take place next week (Week 7), and we are excited to see what both teams can achieve.
Looking Forward
Our Senior Boys and Girls have also begun their School Sport WA (SSWA) competition, which will continue throughout Term 1 and Term 2 against other specialist basketball schools.
We encourage members of our College community to come along and support our teams at upcoming games.
