Year 7

Since the last newsletter, our Year 7 students have continued to settle confidently into life at the College and have embraced a number of valuable experiences and opportunities.

A highlight was the recent College Swimming Carnival. We are very proud of the way our Year 7 students participated with enthusiasm and showed great support for others within their Houses. Their encouragement of peers and positive spirit throughout the day were wonderful to see.

Students also enjoyed time connecting with their Heads of House, followed by a lunch with their Year 11 Peer Support leaders. The Year 7 and Year 11 students had a great time together, and it was lovely to see new connections forming through conversation and games.

Year 7 also attended Benediction, where Sterling Aiello and Jonah Spurgeon represented their year group as readers. Both students did an excellent job and should be very proud of their contribution.

This week the Year 7 cohort commenced NAPLAN testing, which will continue into early next week. I would like to commend the students for the calm and mature way they have approached these assessments so far.

Looking ahead, there are several exciting events coming up. Information has been sent home regarding the Year 7 Social-The Amazing Race, which will take place on Thursday, March 26. Students can also look forward to their Retreat and Activity Day on Monday 30 March.

A reminder that the Year 7 and New Parent Information Evening will be held on March 23. Please also check recent correspondence from the College and respond where required.

Term 1 concludes on Thursday, April 2. Students will return for Term 2 in their winter uniform. Families are encouraged to check the College website for Uniform Shop opening times if any items still need to be purchased.

It has been wonderful to see how well our Year 7 students are settling in, and I look forward to the many experiences still to come this year.
