Bill Turner Trophy Cup

Our Bill Turner Girls played against Marian Catholic College. While the result did not go our way, the team competed strongly and demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout the match. They were once again congratulated on their outstanding sportsmanship. We are proud of their efforts and look forward to next year.

Echuca District Netball Association (EDNA) Primary Netball Tournament

Over 600 students participated in the Echuca District Netball Association (EDNA) Primary Netball Tournament on Friday, 29 May. Schools from around the region brought teams to compete in Championship Girls and Mixed competitions, while all other teams were Grade 5 or 6 Mixed teams. All our Grade 5 and 6 students competed in teams of 8 or 9. Each team played numerous short matches throughout the day. Two of our mixed teams won their court and received medals.

Our Championship Mixed team played well throughout the day, dropping two games by very small margins. This put them in a semi-final game against Rochester. After a very close contest, they lost by one goal, and Rochester went on to win the Mixed Competition.

The Championship Girls team played with skill and confidence and were undefeated throughout, and came up against St Mary's A in the grand final. Unfortunately, they were unable to maintain the form they had shown throughout the day and went down 8 to 4. All received silver runner-up medals.

All students had a wonderful day and, as expected, were respectful and polite to all opposition players and officials.

A huge thank you to the 5 and 6 teachers, parent coaches, student coaches and student umpires who made the day run so smoothly. Also, to the parent volunteers who helped in the canteen.

NSW All Schools Bowling Championships

We were invited to join the NSW Combined High Schools (CHS) Championships in Wagga Wagga to trial for the NSW All Schools State Team. Over the three days, our team proved to be competitive, despite having many inexperienced players.

However, we were not competing for the championship title. We were there to trial and showcase our skills to the selectors in the hope of being selected for the team competing at Ocean Grove later this year.

Our squad was split into an A and B team, consisting of four players each. From our school, the A team included myself as skip and Emily Parsons as third, while Ella Hipworth played as third in the B team.

The 2026 Victorian Gymnastics Senior State Titles were held at the State Sports Centre in Parkville, Melbourne, from 22 to 24 May.

We are proud to share that our students achieved an outstanding result, with three State Champions recognised at the event. Addison Coburn placed first in the Under 13 International Tumbling event, and Leni Coburn also placed first in the Level 6 Women’s Tumbling event, with both crowned State Champions. Mayli Coburn, the youngest competitor at just 8 years old, demonstrated resilience, recovering from an early setback to finish in 13th place.

Payton Polido also delivered an exceptional performance at the 2026 Senior Victorian Championships, claiming first place and the Level 8 Victorian Floor State Champion title, while achieving a personal best score. She has maintained an outstanding season, placing in the top three across multiple events.
