Extra-Curricular at MAG

MAG Rocks the American – This Sunday!

We are excited to be hosting our 2nd Annual MAG Rocks the American concert this Sunday at the American Hotel, featuring many of our talented student musicians performing live on stage.

Following the success of last year's inaugural event, we are once again looking forward to seeing our students perform in a local venue before a supportive community audience. With the latest weather forecast predicting clear skies, we are pleased to report that at this stage, we are all systems go for what promises to be a fantastic afternoon of live music.

The event provides students with a valuable opportunity to showcase their hard work, build confidence as performers, and share their passion for music with family, friends and the wider community.

We are also currently running a raffle to support our growing music programs. Funds raised will contribute towards the purchase of additional equipment for our co-curricular and extra-curricular music ensembles, as well as resources for the music facilities that will form part of Stage 2 of our Multi-Purpose Stadium development. The raffle will be drawn at the conclusion of the concert on Sunday.

Tickets can be purchased HERE.

We would greatly appreciate any parents or carers who may be able to volunteer for an hour or two on the day to assist with raffle sales. If you are available, please email communications@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au.

We look forward to seeing our school community come together to support our young musicians and celebrate another memorable afternoon of music.

Congratulations and thank you to all students who performed at this year's Young Performers Concert. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the musical achievements of our Primary students and one of the largest events of its kind we have hosted.

The concert featured an incredible 53 performances involving 68 student performers, showcasing a wide range of instruments, musical styles and developing talents. Every performer should be proud of the dedication, courage and enthusiasm they brought to the stage.

Celebrating Music at Moama Anglican Grammar

Last Saturday, students of Delena Gaffney performed for their families in a piano concert held in the MPH. The students performed brilliantly, and the event concluded with Delena performing a spectacular Chopin piece for the guests. Thank you to the families who attended and supported the event, and to Delena for her ongoing encouragement, dedication and commitment to developing young pianists.

At Wednesday's K to 12 Assembly, Sayuni Hettiarachchige delivered a breathtaking performance of Defying Gravity from Wicked, captivating the audience with her confidence and vocal talent. Thank you to her vocal tutor Georgina Bish and Mrs Fiona Gibbs for their support and accompaniment. We also congratulate Archie Flannigan, who expertly accompanied Advance Australia Fair on piano for the first time at a K to 12 Assembly, performing this important role with remarkable poise and professionalism.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Moama Bowling Club for their generous support in helping us purchase new equipment for the Music and Performing Arts Department, including a Cole Clark acoustic guitar, Yamaha drum kit, and the stunning Nord Grand Piano, which made its public debut at this week's assembly.

Their contribution will provide opportunities for countless students to develop their musical talents for many years to come. On behalf of our staff, students and families, we thank the Moama Bowling Club for their continued support of young people and the arts within our community.
