Celebrating World Principals’ Day
Last fortnight, we were very fortunate to celebrate World Principals’ Day.
We feel incredibly lucky and proud to be the principals of Grayling Primary School. Each day, we have the privilege of visiting classrooms, seeing the wonderful learning taking place and chatting with our students about their achievements and interests.
To mark the occasion, our students created a very special book for each of us filled with thoughtful messages and beautiful drawings. Reading their kind words brought us so much joy and reminded us what a wonderful community we are fortunate to lead.
A heartfelt thank you to our students and staff for making World Principals’ Day so memorable. We are extremely proud to be part of the Grayling community and to lead a school that is Proud and Connected.
Celebrating Book Week
We had a fantastic time celebrating Book Week!
On Wednesday, students were treated to a staged performance of Rapunzel, organised by Mrs Schache. This adapted version of the classic tale was engaging and entertaining, and it was wonderful to see our students so involved and captivated by the performance.
On Friday, the school was buzzing with excitement as students and staff arrived dressed in some truly amazing costumes. It was fantastic to see so many favourite book characters brought to life and our community’s shared love of reading on display.
Book Week was a wonderful celebration and a special reminder of the imagination, knowledge and joy that books bring.
Being PROUD
During last week’s assembly, Mr Abdullah shared two important reminders with our students.
Firstly, we have noticed an increase in rubbish being left in the yard. Students were reminded to eat their food during their designated eating time. If they have not finished eating before entering the yard, they should remove any packaging and carry their food in their hands. If packaging is taken outside, it must be placed in one of the bins provided. We all share responsibility for keeping our school grounds clean and welcoming.
Secondly, Mr Abdullah spoke about the importance of demonstrating our PROUD values in the yard. This means treating others with respect, including others in games, using kind words, following staff instructions and making safe choices.
We encourage families to continue these conversations at home. By working together and taking pride in our school, we can ensure that Grayling remains a safe, respectful and enjoyable place for everyone.
Attendance Matters!
Regular attendance gives every student the best opportunity to learn, build friendships and feel connected to our school community. Every day at school counts, and arriving on time helps students feel settled and ready to begin their learning.

- Prep: Prep A – 94%
- Year 1: 1D – 89%
- Year 2: 2D – 95%
- Year 3: 3D – 86%
- Year 4: 4C – 90%
- Year 5: 5C – 88%
- Year 6: 6B – 93%
Well done to these classes! We look forward to celebrating more attendance achievements as we work together to make regular and punctual attendance a priority across our school.
