Year 1/2 News

LITERACY
We have started our Non-Fiction Information Text Unit where students have been learning to identify and use a range of non-fiction text features including contents pages, headings, subheadings, diagrams, captions, labels, photographs, glossaries and indexes. They have been busy researching facts about a country of their choice, using skimming and scanning skills to find key information. Students have then been rewording their research in their own words as they draft their very own Information Reports.
MATHS
Over the past two weeks, students have been learning to solve and represent multiplication problems using a range of strategies includingequal groups, repeated addition, skip counting and arrays. They have also been making connections between their double facts and multiplying numbers by 2, helping to strengthen their understanding of multiplication.
Art Show Performance
Well done to all our P–2 students who performed a dance representing a continent of the world! We are so proud of the courage and confidence you showed. You were all fantastic!
We hope you have a fabulous weekend!
