Interschool Sport

Darebin Division
As is custom at the start to Term 2 for Year 11/12 age group, it has been full of sport options, with all their Darebin events in the first half of the year. Our students have been fantastic with their enthusiasm, preparation and leadership for all the different events. Special mention to the three Year 11/12 teams that won their events: Boys Badminton, Girls Basketball and Girls Soccer.
The Darebin Cross Country event was held in typically tough Cross Country conditions, with the rain and cold weather about. We had a strong contingent of 44 students competing, with all of them to be commended for their efforts! 25 of our runners qualified for regionals by finishing in the top 15 in their race. Special mentions to Maddie Carr-Howes and Michaela Belles for winning their respective races!
North Metro Region
Congratulations to the Year 7 Girls Tennis team that were runner-up at the NMR finals! Our whole team was exceptional throughout the tournament, led by captain Maddie. In the Grand Final, it was 3 sets all, and games totalling 16-17, meaning there was only 1 game difference overall. So close!
Olivia Munro - Victorian Water Polo Team
Congratulations to Olivia Munro (Year 8) who has recently been selected in the Victorian Under 13 Water Polo team! In July, she will represent the state in the National Carnival.
Olivia is a very talented swimmer, winning a medal at the NMR Swimming Carnival in Term 1. She is also a member of the THS Sports Academy. A fantastic achievement being selected in the Victorian team and we look forward to hearing how the tournament goes!
