Year 10 Kokoda Excursion
On Thursday the 24th of April, our Year 10 students visited the Dandenong Ranges National Park for a special ANZAC Day program — and the weather couldn't have been more perfect, with glorious sunshine accompanying them throughout the day.
Students rotated through three activities in their form groups: a presentation on the Kokoda campaign led by Julia from Parks Victoria, a scavenger hunt at the Kokoda Memorial Statue and Terrace, and a walk up the iconic 1000 Steps — a tribute to the Australian soldiers who fought and died on the Kokoda Track. The day began with a commemorative ANZAC Day service, in which students participated with real sincerity and respect, setting a fitting tone for all that followed. Students were also treated to a BBQ lunch to round out the day.
A big thank you to all the staff involved, and to our students for their thoughtful and enthusiastic engagement throughout the day.
