Athletics Carnival

After some uncertainty surrounding the weather for the 2026 Athletics Day, students were greeted with a beautiful autumn day, filled with sunshine upon arriving at Coburg Athletics Track. The Year 12 cohort certainly made the event one to remember, arriving in impressively creative costumes that had been the talk of the school in the lead-up to the big day.

Throughout the day, students enthusiastically participated in a wide range of events and activities, earning a mountain of house points for their teams. The competition remained incredibly close from start to finish, but Nicholls ultimately claimed victory with an impressive 598 points across Years 7–12. Onus followed closely behind with 576 points, Blair finished in third place with 573 points, and Saunders rounded out the tally with 435 points.

The day concluded with the highly anticipated Students vs Teachers 4 x 100m relay, an event that brought the entire school to the fence surrounding the track in support of their house teams. Despite fierce competition from the teachers, Nicholls sprinted home to victory, securing the final winning points and ending the day on a high.
