Shakespeare Fest

The 2026 Shakespeare Fest was a brilliant night of spectacle and song, with a performance of As You Like It by Year 11 Theatre Studies which featured music by the Year 9/10 Music class band. The show wove its way between the foyer, a wrestling showdown in the gym and an escape to the Forest of Arden, the auditorium.

The show, which traded the 1590s for the 1980s, was completely student-led (under Fi’s expert guidance), with the theatre class handling the direction, acting, costuming and everything in between. The class did an amazing job, creating a lively and hilarious staging of one of The Bard’s finest comedies, with a lush forest set, intricate lighting, choruses of birdsong and suitably big costumes and makeup. All this was accompanied by a fittingly ‘80s soundtrack, with classics such as Time After Time, The Cure’s Lovesong and The Power of Love, conducted by Year 9/10 music teacher Lewis Waite. The energy, both on and off stage, was truly electric as everything came together.

Thank you everyone for making it such an amazing show, and special thanks to Fi - we couldn’t have done it without you!

Stay, Jacques, stay…
