Year 5 student has a heart for helping
One of our Year 5 superstar students, Thomas Volpe, recently received the Young Volunteer Award at the 2025 Victorian Volunteering Awards. Thomas has raised more than $288,000 for the Kids with Cancer Foundation over the past 2 years, and at only ten, is the youngest recipient in the award’s history and an absolute inspiration.
From care packs to a statewide fundraising mission, Thomas has shown extraordinary heart and determination for a cause he truly believes in, and the Kilvington community couldn’t be prouder. Bravo, Thomas!
VCE Excellence Award 2024
Congratulation to Jun Yang Oon from the Class of 2024, who was recognised earlier in the year at the 2024 Premier’s VCE Awards with a Subject Award for Chinese Language, Culture and Society, studied through Xin Jin Shan Chinese Language and Culture School.
Also honoured was current Year 12 student Caleb Mendez, who received a Subject Award for Psychology.
This is a remarkable achievement on Victoria’s academic stage and a true reflection of dedication and excellence by our students.
StressLess: A new and innovative resource for Kilvington students
Exam revision for Kilvington students has just become a little easier thanks to the new StressLess Study Program launched on the School’s intranet platform by Year 10 student, Addi Sey.
Born from Addi’s passion and hard work through Kilvington’s Enrichment program and the national Future Problem Solving Program, StressLess is designed to help students approach assessments and exams with confidence and calm.
Addi says, “Whether you’re the person with colour-coded binders, or the person who hasn’t started their notes yet, StressLess is there to help make assessments and exams less overwhelming by gaining better study and wellbeing habits.”
Inside the StressLess Study Program, students can find tips, study hacks, podcast episodes, infographics, and links to wellbeing resources - all aimed at helping students build smarter, healthier study routines.
Well done Addi – what an amazing initiative!
Kilvington athletes celebrate sporting excellence
It’s been a wonderful year of sport for our Kilvington students, with many achieving outstanding success across a wide range of disciplines.
This year, we’ve seen students selected for the Melbourne Victory Football Club, as well as a talented football player selected to play in the female AFL pathway competition. We’ve also celebrated students finishing first at the National Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition in New Zealand and representing Victoria and taking gold at the Junior National Track Cycling Championships in Brisbane.
We also congratulate one of our outstanding runners who claimed 1st place in steeple chase at the Victorian Championships and dominated the cross country circuit with exceptional performances throughout the season.
Well done to all our exceptional sportspeople. You make Kilvington proud!
