On Thursday the 15th of May our Senior Boys Football team travelled to Stawell to compete in the Black Range Football Carnival. In what was a fantastic day for Football our boys came up against 18 from St Brigid’s/Lutheran and Marion College’s A Team. A few of the boys started the day by helping out the St Brigid’s team which was a fantastic show of great sportsmanship and attitude.
It was then our turn to take on St Brigid’s. The Boys showed great teamwork in their first game leading from the front and building on their lead throughout the game to come out comfortable winners.
In the 2nd and final game for the day which turned out to be a grand final match against Marion the boys started the game shaky with Marion pushing the boys in every position. The boys needed to lift, and that they did kicking the next four goals of the game to hold a two-goal lead at half time. After half time the boys extended on that lead showing some fantastic teamwork against the strong opposition running away with the victory and earning their spot at the Greater Western Region Carnival.
Well done boys!

Ethan Hill, James Mackereth, Jaxon Luy, and Charlie Curran represented the Wimmera Hockey Association U14s at the Junior Country Championships on the weekend in Melbourne, with 47 regional teams competing.
The team was made up of players from Dimboola, Kaniva, Nhill, Warracknabeal, Yanac, and Horsham (whom the four boys play for in the U16s during the domestic season), and this was the first time since 2019 that the Wimmera Hockey Association has had an U14s boys’ team at the JCC.
The team finished ninth in the tournament winning two of their three games in the Sunday session. An amazing effort considering the team only had one training session together before the tournament and no dedicated goalkeeper (Charlie, James and Jaxon all having a game each in that position during the tournament).
On Tuesday the 20th of May, Horsham college took a team of Year 9 & 10 Students to participate in the Greater Western Region Girls football in Hamilton, it was a fresh start to the morning however continued into amazing day for the girls to play football!

On Tuesday the 27th of May our Year 7 Boys took on Marion college in the Black Range level Junior Football. Being the boys first game of football for the school they were eager and excited to get the game underway.
The game was played in chilly conditions @ Horsham City Oval, and Marion got the game underway with a couple of goals in the first quarter. The boys responded in the second quarter, kicking 6 goals to 1 to give them a handy lead at half time. The third quarter brought a very even contest, both teams scoring well and linking up for great passages of play.
The last quarter turned into an unexpected nailbiter. Marion put the foot down and mounted a big comeback, kicking into the wind they scored a couple of quick goals with plenty of opportunities narrowly missing.
A great bit of running link up play created another opportunity for our boys resulting in a goal, which sealed a very narrow win 9-1-55 to 7-7 49. A fantastic show of sportsman ship both teams on the day was the highlight! well done boys and good luck at the next level.
