Senior Legal Studies Excursion to Law Talks

Our Year 10, 11 and 12 Law and Order & Legal Studies students recently had the exciting opportunity to attend the Regional Law Talks program — a free, two-day event designed to bring the Victorian legal system directly to our community.

Law Talks offers students a unique chance to hear from senior members of the judiciary, experienced legal practitioners, and leaders of key legal organisations. These presentations provided valuable insights into students’ legal rights and responsibilities in everyday life.

Held across two venues — the Horsham Law Courts and the Horsham Town Hall — it was an excellent way for our students to connect with Victoria’s legal community and explore the real-world applications of their studies.

A highlight was the opportunity for students to try on the barrister’s wig. These wigs are made from horsehair and are a traditional part of court attire, often worn in higher courts.
