Before and After school care New Adventure St Augustines
Vacation care feels like it was a million years ago now as we get well into term 2. We had a great time though and wanted to share some photos from our Vacation fun.
Before and After school care. What do we do ?
We believe that Before and After school care is not only a space to have fun whilst we wait for family to finish work and collect us. It is actually a unique opportunity to develop other skills that we may not get an opportunity to work on in other environments.
For those who don't know we work with a learning framework called My Time Our Place and using this framework we create great learning opportunities for your children.
This Semester - Terms 1 and 2 we are Creating a program that is focusing on our social and emotional skills. Over the next few weeks of this term we will be working on Empathy, Emotions, Self, Communication and Play.
What have we been up to in the last three weeks?
The first week of term however we enjoyed many activities involving camping. This was entirely the Childrens idea as so many of our families had been camping over the Easter break. There was particular interest around tents and camp fires so we made smores, told camp fire stories and built tents.
Week two was of course a very short week and we remembered our Anzacs and the Anzac story
This week we have started to think about friendships and what it means to be a good friend and why our friends are important to us. We have discussed differences and similarities, made friendship bracelets and discussed how important it is to treat our friends with kindness.
We also made some lovely sharing platters for afternoon tea.
Next week we will be revisiting our families theme from term one which follows on nicely from our friendships but also links in with National families week 2024.
