Wellbeing & Partnerships

Additional Support

We know and understand that finding available external therapists to support your child/children can be as rare as hen’s teeth at the moment. We often receive information from various health professionals, including psychologists, occupational therapists and speech therapists. Whilst we do not necessarily engage with these providers, as a school, we would like to share this information with you, should it be of any interest or help to you.

Wellbeing Clubs at Lunch Times

We have begun Term 2 with many sunny days which has allowed us to enjoy participating in lunch time clubs. So far, we have had gardening club, knitting, board games, chess club and athletics training sessions. This is all in addition to Mini-Vinnies, Choir and SRC lunch meetings.

Grade 3/4 Knitting Club

An amazing group of grade 3/4 students met with Mrs Rodda early in Week 2 this term wanting to begin a Knitting Club. They had a few reasons for wanting to start the club. The children were really keen to raise money for the Garcia Family Fundraiser and had a goal of $60. Their hard work and passion has paid off. Congratulations on exceeding your target - the club has raised $61.00!

As well as raising money for the fundraiser, the children also wanted to have a club where they could make new friends and include everyone. The club runs every lunch time and is offering knitted star decorations, angels, Christmas trees, God’s eyes and bracelets. Other children can also take part in free knitting lessons. You can find them on the plaza in front of the staff room.

SRC

Mrs K has been working with the SRC this week in preparing for the leaders to begin THEIR lunch time clubs. On Thursdays, the SRC will be running “Something for Everyone”. The SRC Leaders will be facilitating fun activities like board games, skipping & hoops, colouring activities, ball games and building blocks.

If you have any items to donate to the SRC, such as colouring books, crayons/pencils, building blocks, please bring these to Emma Ramsamy via the office.

Would you like to be a helper in our school?

At St A's, we really value any additional help from members in our wonderful community. There are a number of ways you can contribute by supporting the staff and children, such as: Excursions, Athletics days, Interschool Sports, Mother's Day/Father's Day events, Cooking & Gardening sessions and so much more! If you are keen to join in, please make sure you have a current Working With Children Check
