5K for $5K GARCIA FAMILY FUNDRAISER

This Sunday 5th May we held our 5k for $5k fundraiser! This event was to raise much needed funds for Naleeta Garcia who was made an incomplete quadripelgic due to complictions from Chemotherapy. The money raised will be going straight to the Garcia family who are trying to organise a wheelchair modified Kia Carnival which will allow Naleeta the abillity and freedom to come and attend special events of her sons Ezra (Grade 4) and Jude (Grade 2) at school and within the community. It is an honour to gather as community enriched with our Catholic ethos to help and support those in their time of need. Yesterday was an amazing event where over 200 people gathered to support the Garcias and we are so proud to announce that we reached a total of ......

$7837.50!!!!!!!!

Being so close to $8,000 Mrs Carrie Rodda has decided to round up that amount on behalf of the school!!! So the grand total raised yesterday was.....

$8,000.00!!!!!!

WOW!!! We are incredibly blown away by this outstanding total!! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!!  Yesterday Steven, Naleeta's husband spoke about everything Naleeta has gone through and  the impact on their family. It was very moving to hear Steven speak and express their gratitude for every single person who contributed to yesterdays fundraiser. The Garcia Family is extremely appreciative of everyones efforts in putting the day together and to every person who contributed to the fundraiser. Special thank you to Lisa Vearing for spearheading the event and help from her husband Luke with the safety measures on the walk with neon signage. To 'Something Higher' featuring Benjamin Sayer and Veronica who provided the amazing entertainment, to 'Smart Amusements' for the dunking tank - Mrs Nicole Quanchi, Mrs Regine Costanza and Adam Walravens for volunteering to be dunked! Tip Top bakery - donated all the bread via Tom Baker and Mrs G's family organised the donations of sausages from the Australian Butcher's store in Berwick. We are especially grateful for contributions from The Paparella family, The Walravens family, Elise Redmond, Claire Chatfield, Amber Sullivan, Tess Roberts and all the staff who volunteered on the day to help with the running of the event. We are very blessed to have such a wonderful community come together to help another in their time of need and that makes St A's a very special place to be. Thank you to everyone again -  Jacinta Martin
