LAW AND CITIZENSHIP

YEAR 10
The Year 10 Law and Citizenship class recently attended an excursion to Korumburra Magistrates’ Court, where students had the opportunity to see the law in action in a real-world setting. Throughout the visit, students observed a variety of court matters, including criminal cases, intervention orders, and child protection matters, giving them a valuable insight into the broad role of the Magistrates’ Court.
A highlight of the excursion was a brief interview with the magistrate, who spoke with students about the court process and the important role the legal system plays in the community. Students were highly engaged and asked thoughtful questions, showing genuine interest in what they had seen and learned.
The class is to be commended on their excellent behaviour and the respectful manner in which they conducted themselves throughout the day. It was particularly encouraging to see a number of students leave the excursion feeling inspired and expressing an interest in pursuing a future career in law.
