YEAR 9
Year 9 took their study of FORCES out of the classroom and into the fast lane on Friday 20th Feb with an unforgettable visit to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit!
As part of their Science unit, students experienced firsthand the power, speed and physics behind world-class motorsport at the home of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
Highlights of the day included:
Watching WorldSBK FP1 from the terrace.
Exploring the Circuit Expo - including a visit to the Army Recruitment team and their incredible vehicles on display.
A special Pit Walk to see behind the scenes and discover what really goes on in the pits.
Collecting posters (including a signed copy from one of the riders!)
The 1000cc machines of MotoGP™ deliver top speeds regularly exceeding 330 km/h on the 4.448 km circuit with its 12 high-speed turns.
Students learned that the fastest MotoGP lap ever recorded at Phillip Island is an astonishing 1:26.492, set by Marco Bezzecchi during practice in 2025 - the first rider to break the 1:27 barrier at the circuit!
