Term 1 Edition 2

March 2026

What an incredible Term 1 this has been. From the very moment staff and students returned to start the new school year, each week has brought new events, sporting competitions, camps, music performances and excursions across the school. The last few weeks have been just as busy and dynamic.

The Reservoir Bounce took place a couple of weekends ago. Students, families and staff bought tickets to attend a Sunday afternoon filled with incredible music acts performed by professional musicians, in addition to student performances. The whole event was simply marvellous and I would like to thank Mark Olszewski, a parent and member of School Council, for his extraordinary organisation of the day.

A true highlight of our school calendar was the whole-school Badges Assembly, which was held on Tuesday 17th March. This very important event is where we gather to celebrate student excellence in learning, in addition to student leadership. We recognised the newly established Year 12 Student Leadership Team and the elected Student Representative Council. It was also very special to have the parents of our new student leaders join us. Each student leader was presented with their Leadership Badge of Office and we also recognised student achievement, by awarding a number of learning and leadership scholarships.

We have had some fantastic interschool sports happening in the last couple of weeks, including a Girls Tennis Team, which is the first time in several years that we have entered a team in the competition. The junior and senior Volleyball Teams also competed last week. All teams did exceptionally well and had a great deal of fun while competing.

Parent/Teacher Interviews were held last week, with a combination of onsite and online sessions. It was wonderful to see so many of our families meeting with our teachers, further strengthening the learning partnership that is critical to the success of our young people at school. It was particularly heartening to have so many families attend the onsite meetings, considering that the skies opened up and the rain was torrential!

Finally, to close the term, our annual Open Morning took place on Tuesday 31st March and it was a massive success, with well over a hundred prospective families coming to experience our school. The families toured through the entire school and were able to experience what powerful and engaging learning looks like as they moved through the different learning spaces. This was then followed by our Showcase Evening, where prospective families were able to interact with current students and parents. Reservoir High School is a very special place and I was so proud that it was reflected in the learning that is evident across our school each day and in the presentations on the evening.

As we come to the end of a very positive, and energised term, I wish all of our students and families a very restful break. I hope you take the time to re-connect with one another and enjoy the beautiful Autumn weather.
