Year 7 STEP
Students have recently commenced our “Design a Car” unit, which began with an excursion to the Quantum Victoria Centre of Excellence.
After developing their skills in computer-aided design using Fusion 360, students are now back at school during our early morning sessions designing cars for 3D printing and developing their portfolios. The unit will conclude early in Term 3 with a race day and student verbal presentations, showcasing their creativity, engineering and problem-solving skills developed throughout the project.

STEM Racing National Final
Our first appearance at the STEM Racing National Final was an incredible experience!
Our team, “Hyperspeed” — Archie Pinhorn, Hudson Barnes, Finn Van Deursen and Nick Ly — invested an enormous amount of time and effort into every aspect of the competition, including car design and manufacture, portfolios, trade displays, uniforms and verbal presentations. The event is regarded as one of the most prestigious engineering competitions for secondary school students in Australia.
We are proud to share that Hyperspeed received the “Best Newcomer” award — an outstanding achievement. Congratulations to Archie, Hudson, Finn and Nick on their hard work, teamwork and success!

STEP PSC F1 Racing
Our STEM Racing students recently took time out to visit The F1 Exhibition in the city. The exhibition showcased memorabilia and displays from some of the greatest teams and drivers in Formula 1 history, while also highlighting many of the sport’s most iconic moments and stories.
During our early morning sessions, students are developing F1 car designs using CAD (Autodesk Fusion 360) and creating portfolios as part of tour STEM Racing competition to be held later in term 2.

Year 8 Coding
Our fabulous Year 8 Coders recently went out on a Virtual Reality Excursion! Lead by the amazing Mr Boglietti, the team visited the converted Virtual Reality rooms in Melbourne. Virtual Room is an award-winning collaborative virtual reality experience, offering immersive gaming adventures filled with team-based puzzles to solve.
Blending the escape room concept with a full 3D cinematic experience to deliver unique and mind-blowing games requiring communication and teamwork.
Here is what one of the group had to say about the day….
It was my first time on VR and it was the best school excursion I have ever been on. The pizza I ate for lunch was good and the day was a very good day, I really liked it.
