Dear Parents and Students
Congratulations
Congratulations to our Yr 5/6 soccer team who represented OLGC at the Regionals on Monday. They were successful in making it through to the semi finals but unfortunately they were beaten.
Thank you to Gianni for coaching the team and to all the parents who supported them on the day.
Trivia Night
Thank you to the Parents Association for organising an amazing night on Saturday. From all accounts the buzz around the room was electric. A huge thank you to the committee who spent hours organising this event and also to all the parents who supported the evening by donating, buying items and attending.
These events bring the community together.
A big thank you to the staff who attended and in particular Stu who spoke and stayed for the whole evening in my absence.
Another big thank goes to Mrs Leah Blake for her work with the students to produce the wonderful pieces of art work that were so eagerly sort after.
Confirmation
At Sunday evening Mass last week our Yr. 6 students who are preparing for their Confirmation were presented to our Parish community. I ask that you keep the candidates in your thoughts and prayers. They will celebrate this wonderful sacrament in the coming weeks with Fr Brendan and Bishop Tomlinson.
Richmond AFL visit
Last week members of the Richmond AFL team spoke with our Yr. 3/4 and 5/6 students. The players were very generous with their time and like the AFLW players these players were wonderful representatives for the Richmond football club. I thank the Richmond football club for their generousity in proving the opportunity for their players to talk to our students.
1/2D
Earlier this week I informed the parents of 1/2D that Miss Joyce Dunne will be leaving OLGC at the end of this week. Joyce has accepted a position at a school closer to her home for the remainder of the year. We have been fortunate to have have found a replace teacher. Don will be working with Joyce this Friday to assist with the transition.
We thank Joyce for her caring approach to the students during her time at OLGC and wish her all the best.
