           Prep - Yr 2

Prep Mathematics: In Prep, we have been exploring the whole-part-whole strategy to consolidate our understanding of addition. 

Prep Literacy : In Literacy, the Prep students have been working hard learning about common blends and digraphs. They then learn to use this information to help them with their reading and writing!

1/2 Mathematics: In maths, the students have been exploring Measurement and Geometry. The students are using lots of hands-on manipulatives while they learn to estimate, measure and compare different capacities. 

1/2 Literacy: In literacy, the students are continuing to explore a variety of reading and writing concepts. They have been using their imagination to write amazing narratives and are just beginning to revisit procedural writing. 

1/2 SEL: This Term, the Year 1/2 students Social Emotional Learning focus is 'Help Seeking and Stress Management'. We have been learning about the importance of asking for help when we need it and who we can go to for help. As well as this, students are learning to show an awareness of the feelings and needs of others as well as their own. They are also learning to discuss the ways in which they can use self-calming strategies to manage themselves in stressful situations.

Production: 

The students have been busy learning all of the songs and dances for the upcoming Madagascar production. We can not wait to share our hard work with you all!
